Donna's surrogacy dilemma

'Emmerdale' beauty Donna Dingle is to face a tough choice after her broody mother asks her to be a surrogate mum.

Middle-aged Viv, actress Deena Payne, is trying for a baby with her husband, Bob, and is overjoyed when she believes she is pregnant.

However, her joy soon turns to anguish when doctors tell her she has not conceived.

In her desperation, Viv decides to ask daughter Donna, who is married to Marlon Dingle, to have her baby for her and Bob.

An insider told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "It's typical Viv. Her obsession to have another child is just enormous and she puts everything on Donna to help her.

"Donna is a good daughter and she will seriously consider it, Viv may be frightful but Donna loves her."

Despite Donna's desire to help her mother, husband Marlon will have serous doubts about the proposed surrogacy.

The insider added: "Marlon's view is that his wife should be having his children. He wants a family of his own and thinks Viv should be happy to be a grandmother ' rather than an old mother."
