Filming on 'Coronation Street' is being thrown into chaos - by a skyscraper.
Shooting on the popular soap is being affected by Europe's biggest apartment block, a 47-storey building located next to the set in Manchester, because it emits a "screeching" sound every time wind hits it.
The noise is said to be so loud, the crew and cast have to wait for the gusts to die down before they can start filming any outdoor scenes.
Actress Julia Haworth, who plays butcher's wife Claire Peacock in the show, was even seen sitting on the floor with her ears covered because the noise was so unbearable.
A spokeswoman for the show has revealed sound engineers have even added background noise to some scenes to mask the whistling.
She told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "We just don't want that sound to go on to the programme."
Bosses on the show have now formally complained to the developers about the building's noise problem.
