Rumours are ripe that David Tennant will appear as the Time Lord in a film adaptation of the hit BBC sci-fi show with The Sun claiming that the actor has agreed to make a full fifth series in 2010, if the film role can be agreed.

A source told the paper: "It looks like the film is going to happen in the next few years. For ages, BBC Worldwide held the rights and were planning to make a movie, but it got held up." Then Tennant claimed he was only in it for up until the Christmas special, hanging up his coat and focusing on his promising stage career. Only time will tell on this one...
