The big abbreviation quiz

Internet slang and modern abbreviations have been getting a lot of bad press lately, but typing LOL on a keyboard could actually cheer you up, according to new research.

Scientists have found that people respond better to words typed on the right hand side of a QWERTY keyboard, while ones from the left - like tax, fear, few and carcass - can make people feel negative emotions.

So the short form for laughing out loud, LOL, could actually be cheering us up as we type - and to celebrate, why not rejoice and thank those little time savers with our big, internet abbreviations quiz?

Test how well you know your internet slang now - will you be ROFL or CBA?
